What are some advantages of using Waves plugins?

The biggest advantage would be the psycho-acoustic plugins: PS22 Spread & S1 Imager are like no other processor out there. Renaissance Compressor is the most musical compressor I've ever heard.

Are you recording or virtual sound-checking the shows?

Yes, I use Pro Tools 8.

What do you see as your main goal for the audience?

Vocal intelligibility. Hearing every thing Rihanna sings or says is crucial to a successful mix as well as having a massive impact without blowing their ears out.
