Preparing DiGiCo SD and MultiRack SoundGrid V2.5 & Waves V8 Sessions Offline

For MultiRack SoundGrid V1 with Waves V7 click here

What You Need

  • DiGiCo Offline Software (download here).
  • Waves SoundGrid V2.5 software (download here).

You also need an iLok USB key containing authorizations for MultiRack SoundGrid and all your Waves plugins. Most likely, it would be the same iLok key you use on your DiGiCo console.

During the MultiRack installation process, you will be prompted to install Pace driver for iLok. If you have already installed the driver prior to installing MultiRack, then you may skip the Pace driver installation when prompted during the MultiRack installation process. If your computer does not see your iLok when it is connected, then you should download and install the latest driver, located here.

Important

Make sure your PC is disconnected from the Digico console and SoundGrid network.

Prepare Routing

  1. Verify that all of the above are installed on your computer.
  2. Create a folder named “Projects” on your computer’s C drive. (This folder is required by the DiGiCo Offline Software.)
  3. Open the DiGiCo Offline Software.
  4. Go to Options > Choose Session Tab > Click Yes to enable Waves MultiRack.
  5. Restart DiGiCo Offline Software.
  6. Click the Setup Tab, choose Audio I/O, click add port, Waves port will appear in the Ports column.
  7. Prepare your session, including all routings to MultiRack SoundGrid.
  8. Launch MultiRack by touching the Waves Tab in SD offline software.
Note: In the status area of MultiRack an error message will appear; please disregard it.
MultiRack should remain disconnected from the network and servers.
  9. Add plugins to the Racks.
  10. Save the SD editor session to the Projects folder. (For example, “My Session”.)
  11. Copy the entire Projects folder to a USB disk-on-key.
  12. Plug the USB thumb-drive into the console and open the session as you normally would.
The entire session, including MultiRack SoundGrid plugins and settings, will load as prepared.

Important

To keep routing to and from MultiRack SoundGrid intact when loading your session on the DiGiCo console, it helps if you stick to one simple rule: Keep things consistent.

For example, when inserting a Rack into a Mono channel, make sure the Rack is set to Mono as well. When inserting a Rack into a Stereo channel, make sure the Rack is set to Stereo as well.

Make sure your PC is disconnected from the Digico console and SoundGrid network.
